Volt's General Assembly 2021 in Lisbon

</aside>

Let's start with the beginning...

We believe that only a Europe that acts together can solve our shared challenges.

Volt is on its way to change how politics is done. We believe in democracy, transparency, pragmatism and the pan-European approach. The General Assembly plays a central role in our organization, because at the GA this all comes together.. (More information on the introduction to Volt Europa).

The General Assembly

At the GA we come together to tell each other what we all together have been doing the past months, so you get to know what's going on in Volt. Also important, at the GA we vote on the decisions that have to be made. Think about Policy Proposals (any Volter can make one!), positions like the European Board and organizational votes.

The GA is the highest body of our organization as you can see in the chart I made below.

This is the formal and legal structure of Volt.

This is where Volt happens!

The GA is the moment to meet European Volters, just like you, but who live somewhere else! It is the moment to learn from each other, discuss ideas and to have fun!

At the GA, you experience what it is like to be part of our movement!

This upcoming GA in Lisbon

3 reasons why this GA is special

  1. This is the first physical GA since 2019

    Everybody is super enthusiastic, because we have not seen each other for 2 years!

  2. It is also the first GA since Volt has grown exponentially

    There will be a lot of new people, which is refreshing and exciting, but it also means that you will not be the only one who feels new to it all!

  3. At this GA the new European Board will be elected!

    The new Board will be in office for the coming 2 years! This means they will coordinate the upcoming European Parliamentary elections! You can see the candidates in this overview:
